2nd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship for the Blind

The National Council for the Blind, Malaysia hosted the 2nd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship for the Blind 2005 from the 10th – 14th November, 2005 at Pyramid Megalanes, assisted by the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress.

The 1st edition of the championship was held in Tokyo, Japan.

A total of Seven countries, namely Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Westem Australia and host, Malaysia competed in the event. There were a total of 56 bowlers.

The bowlers were classified into a “3-Class System”:

  1. B1 – No light perception in either eye up to light perception but inability to recognize the shape of a hand at any distance or in any direction.
  2. B2 – From ability to recognize the shape of a hand up to a visual acuity of 2/60 and/or visual of less than 5 degrees.
  3. B3 – From visual acuity above 2/60 up to visual acuity of 6/60 and/or a visual field of more than 5 degrees and less 20 degrees.
